SATURDAY OR SUNDAY? WHEN IS THE SABBATH?
Have you ever wondered why most of the Christians celebrate the Sabbath on Sunday? Worldwide Sabbath means the Seventh Day. The Seventh-day means Saturday because the week begins from Sunday everywhere. See Sabbath – Wikipedia. Â
See the name of Sabbath in different languages here Sabbath in other languages.
Anyway, you must be surprised why this question !!
Let us read the following paragraphs and learn about the Truth in detail.
The Fourth Commandment tells us in detail about the instruction to Remember the Seventh-day to keep it Holy. Did you ever wonder why God kept the Sabbath but many Christians are unable to keep it.
Mark 2:27-28 (27) And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath:(28) Therefore the Son of Man is Lord also of the Sabbath “
It clearly explains and is simple to understand that the Sabbath was made for man. We do need the Sabbath. Don’t we need rest from worldly affairs?
We tire ourselves by working excessively to achieve our earthly goals. Post earning we pay through our nose for rest and recuperation. It means rest is a necessity.  But can rest be only physical? Don’t we need spiritual rest also? Is it that difficult to find time for God? Why do have an excuse for celebrating the Sabbath?
John 14:15Â If ye love me, keep my commandments. (KJV)
The Israelites when freed from bondage in Egypt only by the Mighty hand of God as given in Deuteronomy 5:15, were commanded to keep the Sabbath.Â
Have we been able to find any verse, paragraph or chapter etc. in the Bible that the Sabbath has been abolished? No ! Nowhere in the Bible it is written that the Sabbath Commandment has been abolished. Â
There are many instances which show, that the Sabbath is to be remembered and kept Holy. On this day we are supposed to be in absolute fellowship with God. This day He wants us to spend time with Him only. We are to remember Him, thank Him, praise Him etc. Just think what would have Jesus done to keep the Sabbath. He kept it and set an example for us.Â
There are so many Christians who say that the Sabbath has been abolished. Some say that the Sunday or the first day of the week is now the Sabbath. For some, it is not a necessity at all. Their argument is that since Jesus was a Jew, he was supposed to keep it. The question that arises now is whether Jesus died only for the Jews or for the whole world.  What does John 3:16 mean then? When Jesus died for all, then all are supposed to follow his example. Â
John 14:15” If ye love me, keep my commandments.”(KJV)
Galatians 3:28 speaks clearly, that all are one in Christ. When all are one, let all follow Christ, with one mind and honesty. Let us not twist the scriptures, to suit our own worldly ways. Let us not follow the patterns (Romans 12:2) of the world
May the Almighty God bless you.
