The Bible has much to say about laziness. There are many who are lazy and they miss many things in their life and then they blame life itself for the consequences. God has given us much strength and wisom to be able to prosper in our life.
There are three types of laziness.
Physical – Neglecting work and duties.
Mental- Common among kids and a few adults too regarding taking the easy way out.
Spiritual – Neglecting to Pray, read Scripture, and use God-given talents.
1. Missing opportunities
People who are lazy miss many opportunities in their life. Mostly we have opportunities to grab but lazy people procrastinate. Looking at them one can understand that they are lazy. Their work is mostly incomplete. Their things may be untidy and the common excuse is that they could not find the time.
The Bible has many verses which speak about lazy people. Proverbs 15:19, Proverbs 26:14-16, Proverbs 18:9, Proverbs 10:4-5.
2. Procrastination is a sin.
Many people want to be spiritually rich but lack it because of their own reasons. They postpone the most important work; the food for the soul. A regular Bible Study ( not just reading) enriches us with the knowledge and warns us of Satan’s snares. The books are 66 but every day one will find a new meaning of the verses. God wants us to speak with Him, but our laziness will be an impediment.
3. Better protect your property
One of the reasons for poverty can be laziness. You should protect your property and your belongings. Students who postpone their studies may fail in their exams. The bosses fire lazy employees who do not complete their tasks. Their laziness makes them turn short jobs into long ones.
Let us pray for wisdom and strength to use our physical resources well. God gives us time to us to use it judiciously. Time is less and we have to work hard. We cant’ afford to sleep as the enemy is working hard to snatch maximum souls from Salvation.
God bless.
