Of late, many pastors have posted videos on YouTube where they have been teaching a wrong doctrine that denies the sonship of Jesus Christ. Although I found it shocking, I believe that one day the truth will dawn on them and they will realise their mistake and error. Well, only if they are humble and in search of the truth. Otherwise, God can easily bring the haughty to their knees. Remember Daniel 4:28-33.
Well, the Bible is the only source of truth, and there is no other book a Christian should believe in and follow. I believe to the core of my heart that nothing can substitute, add, or change any of the words in the Bible, and it is indeed a sin. In the New Testament, the book of Rev 22:19) says….. “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
The book of Deuteronomy mentions this in the old Testament. Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Apart from this, I would like to insist that the verses in the Bible are quite enough for any believer to cling on to and make him strong so that he can be strong spiritually to fight against the wiles of the devil.
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Thus, please do not take away or add any words to the Bible. God is a wonderful author, and he does not need your help in rewriting the Bible.
So, coming to the point, we can find many verses in the Bible endorsing the fact that Jesus is the Son of God, and these verses are lucid and do not leave any room for doubt.
Let us explore them, one by one.
1) The Temptation of Jesus
Matthew 4:3 “And when the tempter came to him, he said, “If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.”
Mat_4:6 “And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down; for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee; and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.”
All the above examples are when Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness after his baptism. One can see that Satan challenges his position and asks him to deliver results, because Jesus is the Son of God.
Satan and his fallen angels believe it, but we Christians find it hard to believe.
2) Jesus Heals Two Men with Demons
Mat_8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with thee, Jesus, Son of God?” Art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
Let us go through the below list of verses which speak about the Son of God.
1) Daniel 3:25, 2) Matthew 4:3, 3) Matthew 4:6, 4) Matthew 8:29, 5) Matthew 14:33, 6) Matthew 26:63
7) Matthew 27:40, 8) Matthew 27:43, 9) Matthew 27:54, 10) Mark 1:1, 11) Mark 3:11, 12) Mark 15:39
13) Luke 1:35, 14) Luke 3:38, 15) Luke 4:3, 16) Luke 4:9, 17) Luke 4:41, 18) Luke 8:28, 19 ) Luke 22:70
20) John 1:34, 21) John 1:49, 22) John 3:18, 23) John 5:25, 24) John 9:35, 25) John 10:36, 26) John 11:4
27) John 11:27, 28) John 19:7, 29) John 20:31, 30) Acts 8:37, 31) Acts 9:20, 32) Romans 1:4,
33) 2 Corinthians 1:19, 34) Galatians 2:20, 35) Ephesians 4:13, 36) Hebrews 4:14, 37) Hebrews 6:6
38) Hebrews 7:3, 39) Hebrews 10:29, 40) 1 John 3:8, 41) 1 John 4:15, 42) 1 John 5:5, 43) 1 John 5:10
44) 1 John 5:12, 45) 1 John 5:13, 46) 1 John 5:20, 47) Revelation 2:18
These are 47 verses with 48 matches.
I believe this great number of verses and matches are quite enough to prove that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
In the next post, we shall prove from the Bible that Jesus is not the Father and the Son at the same time. This confusion, created by the Roman Catholic Church through the Doctrine of Trinity, is the very reason many people believe in this bogus doctrine. So many souls are lost; people are still being misled, and Satan has been successful in creating this confusion. But we should thank God that there are still many Christians who not only disagree with this doctrine but are also trying to spread the truth about the sonship of Christ amongst all.
We shall talk about the doctrine of Trinity in the next post. Till then, God bless. Spread the Truth.
